The universe of the study consists of special education teachers (n = 103) working in the schools of Istanbul Province, 2019-2020 Provincial Directorates of National Education. Relational scanning method was used in the research. “Occupational Self-Esteem Scale” and “Attitude scale towards sports activities of mentally disabled children” were applied to the participants. Mann Whitney U and Kruskal Wallis Tests were used to analyze the data. As a result of the study, it was found that special education teachers did not have an effect on professional self-esteem and attitudes towards sports activities of mentally disabled individuals according to the gender variable, and that special education teachers who had mentally disabled acquaintances had more positive attitude scores. In parallel with the increase in the scores of the total attitude score towards mentally retarded children and the professional self-esteem sub-dimensions, an increase in the attitude score is observed.</p> ER -
