THE REASONS AND EXPECTATION LEVELS OF THE UNIVERSITY STUDENTS WHO HAVE DISABLED INDIVIDUALS IN THE SPORTS CENTERS

In order to emphasize the importance of disabled individuals who university student doing sports in creating a socially and culturally modern society, this study was conducted to determine the reasons of trending to sports and the expectations of disabled individuals who were the members of private sports centers in Kayseri, and to specify how much their expectations realized. In the study, a questionnaire form titled “Reasons and Satisfaction Rate of Expectations of the Individuals Who Are Members of Private Sport Centers”, which was prepared by Hakan Sunay for 40 disabled individuals who are members of 10 private sports centers in Kayseri, was applied with the necessary permissions.
A solution was searched for the problem of the research with the data obtained from this questionnaire. Percentage and frequency distributions of the data were attained, 0.05 significance level was determined for the statistically acceptance of chi-square analysis for some questions, and SPSS 25 statistics software was used in evaluating the data and finding the calculated values.
When the study is viewed, it is seen the expectations of moving, keeping fit, losing weight, meeting new people, recreation, blow off steam after school/work, improving the sense of self, increasing the self-esteem and gaining new experiences via sports, which are the subcomponents of the expectation level from the sports centers, and the other expectations were realized. However, it is found that the expectation of being healthy, which is another subcomponent of the reasons of trending to sports and the
realization level of the expectations are not met. In order to meet the expectation of being healthy, we predict that it can be achieved by employing people who are experts in individuals with disabilities in private sports center.
