Abstract

It is seen that the fair play phenomenon, which includes not gaining unfair gain over the opponent, obeying the existing rules of the game, and reflecting the spirit of struggle within the framework of respect, appeals to a wide audience that will have an impact on individuals and even societies. Therefore, moral values ​​in sports; It is important to examine fair play. The literature was searched in the research. In addition, the resources on the relevant publications and social network access platforms were scanned. It is expected that all stakeholders participating in sports (athletes, coaches, referees, etc.) behave in accordance with the fair play phenomenon. Club managers are expected not to direct the sports team and its audience to violence, the athletes to be respectful to the opponent, and the media to avoid expressions that direct people with an interest in sports to violence. It can be stated that the principal basis of the concept of fair play was laid in the 19th century in accordance with the socio-cultural values ​​of the period. It can be mentioned that the concept of fair play, which has become very common today, has become more common after the Fair Play Declaration prepared by the International Fair Play Commission (CIFP) in 1974 and the International Olympic Committee accepted the International Fair Play Council as an establishment in 1981. Today, the main philosophy of fair play is to refuse to be successful no matter what. As a result; Keep sports and moral values ​​together It is a social gain to see fair play phenomenon more in the competition areas.
