Abstract

The aim of this study is to examine the job satisfaction of physical education teachers according to some variables. The study is an applied study in the nature of descriptive survey model. The population of the research consists of physical education teachers in Malatya in the 2021-2022 academic year, while the sample group consists of 177 physical education teachers in Malatya, which was selected by random sampling. Minnesota Job Satisfaction Scale was used in the study. The scale consists of two sub-dimensions: intrinsic satisfaction and extrinsic satisfaction. In our study, the Cronbach's Alpha value of the scale was found to be 0,83, while the Cronbach's Alpha values of the sub-dimensions of the scale were found to be 0,72 for intrinsic satisfaction and 0,80 for extrinsic satisfaction. In the study, t-test was used for independent groups in pairwise comparisons, one-way Anova test for multiple comparisons, and Tukey test as post-hoc test to determine between which groups the difference was in multiple comparisons. In the study, it was found that the variables of gender, age, marital status, years of service, and school type were not the factors that would create a significant difference in the job satisfaction perceptions of physical education teachers. As a result, we can say that physical education teachers' view of the teaching profession and the similarity of the work they do in the schools they work in cause these results.
