EXAMINING THE ENVIRONMENTAL LITERACY LEVELS OF UNIVERSITY STUDENTS

The purpose of this study is to determine the environmental literacy level of the students of the Faculty of Sport Sciences, who will ensure that sports interacting with the environment during their activities are carried out in line with contemporary sciences. For this purpose, the environmental literacy level of the students studying at the Faculty of Sport Sciences at different universities in Turkey was tried to be measured by using the "Environmental Literacy Scale for Adults". The obtained data were analyzed with SPSS 21.0 program. “Independent Groups T[1]Test” and “One-Way Analysis of Variance (ANOVA)” were used in the analysis of the data. According to the results of study; It has been determined that the environmental literacy level of the students is high, and the environmental literacy level differs depending on the environmental education/course taking, being a member of an environmental organization, gender and class. These results show that environmental education and activities have an active role in reflecting environmental awareness to behaviors.
